Tae Joon Kwak

Tae Joon Kwak is a highly skilled engineer with extensive experience in biomedical engineering, specializing in microfluidics and bio-sensors. Currently serving as a Staff Engineer at Illumina since March 2022, Tae Joon previously held roles such as Senior Engineer and Research Fellow at prestigious institutions including Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Notable accomplishments include the design and development of advanced optical sensors and organ-on-a-chip systems, as well as pioneering methods in MEMS fabrication. Tae Joon holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has contributed to academic settings as a lecturer and teaching assistant. Tae Joon's foundational experiences began with undergraduate research in biomedical engineering and included service in the Republic of Korea Army.
