Eric Heis

Eric Heis is an experienced professional in government relations and public affairs, currently serving as the Head of Public Affairs at Illuminate USA since September 2023. Prior to this role, Eric held several significant positions, including Deputy Director of Communication for the Ohio Secretary of State, where innovative outreach initiatives were developed to promote voting and entrepreneurship. Eric's background includes being a Public Information Officer for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, where media outreach and special projects were key responsibilities. As the owner of Heis Consulting LLC, Eric managed strategic external affairs for various clients and organized major events like Innovation and Startup Day on Capitol Hill. Additional experience encompasses roles at Apollo Education Group, The Heritage Foundation, Chwat & Co., as well as campaign work and a staff assistant position for U.S. Senator George Voinovich. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Xavier University and an MBA from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
