Technical Artist at Illumix

Madhan Manoharan's work experience includes various roles in the field of game development and design. Madhan currently works at Illumix as a Technical Artist, where they collaborate with artists and engineers to improve workflows, implement scripts and game features, and create animations, particle effects, shaders, UI, and data pipelines. Prior to this, they worked at Human Mode as a Technical Artist II, where they contributed to VR game development on the Oculus Rift platform, prototyped gameplay mechanics, created assets and environments, and collaborated with designers. Madhan also worked as a Graphic Artist I at Human Mode, where they were involved in level design, 3D modeling, and marketing material creation. Before joining Human Mode, they gained experience as an Animation Intern at Kindling Group, where they designed HTML5 banner ads and motion graphics and edited videos. Madhan also worked as a Graphic Design Intern at Wilks Communications Group, where they designed print and web materials and created animated banners. Additionally, they gained experience as an Environment Artist Intern at Digital Hydra, LLC, where they developed high-poly environments and characters, created textures, and set up lighting. Madhan also worked at DePaul University as a Computer Support Technician, providing technical support and video editing, and as a Texture Artist, creating textures for game assets. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Game Developer at Fun Stacker, where they designed and developed an Android game using Unity and created game graphics in Adobe Photoshop.

Madhan Manoharan obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Madras, starting in 2008 and finishing in 2011. Madhan then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Animation and Games Development at Coventry University from 2012 to 2014. Furthermore, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics, and Special Effects from DePaul University, attending from 2015 to 2017.
