Giancarlo Contreras

Giancarlo Contreras has over 15 years of work experience in the software development industry. From 2017 to present, they have been working at Image Metrics as a Quality Assurance Lead and Quality Assurance Engineer, where they have been responsible for representing and advocating for high quality in all aspects of project work, development and execution of functional, system, and acceptance tests, test planning for new feature development, database testing using black box and grey box methodologies, and ensuring that software conforms to style guides and standards. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at AT&T (DIRECTV) as a Senior Product Development Specialist Engineer/Staff Engineer I, where they were responsible for leading a team in executing end user testing to find issues, identifying, analyzing, and documenting software defects, and developing and executing test plans with test scenarios based on application or product functional specs. From 2015 to 2016, they worked at ConsultNet (Contracted to Directv) as an iTV Test Engineer, where they were responsible for setting up and validating interactive applications on existing and new Directv products, and collaborating with team members and application developers to ensure high quality iTV Apps are delivered to customers on schedule. From 2009 to 2017, they worked at Activision as a Senior Tester, Quality Assurance Tester, and Production Tester, where they were responsible for assisting in assigning tasks to test team, communicating with Production and Developers, performing comprehensive testing on assigned projects, identifying bugs for each assignment, and leading many projects.

Giancarlo Contreras attended freeCodeCamp from 2016 to 2017, where they earned a Full Stack Web Development Certification in Computer Software Engineering. Prior to this, they attended The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles from 2002 to 2004, studying Game and Interactive Media Design.
