Maria Kleppe has had a varied work experience, beginning in 2006 as a Coop Student at Amgen. Maria then went on to become a PhD Student at VIB in 2007, where they worked on deciphering novel tumor promoters or suppressors with a role in the pathogenic proliferation of leukemic T-cells. Maria also studied the role of mitogen GAS6 in cancer and evaluated the therapeutic potential of anti-PlGF in Leukemia. In 2011, Maria became a Postdoctoral Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where they investigated clinically and biologically important mechanistic questions in the field of hematological malignancies. Maria then became a Visiting Student at the University of Southern Denmark in 2011. In 2019, Maria became a Project Consultant at King & Spalding, followed by a Technical Specialist role at Ballard Spahr LLP in 2020. Most recently, in 2021, Maria took on the role of Senior Director, Scientific Discovery at Imago BioSciences, Inc.
Maria Kleppe attended The Philipp University of Marburg from 2001 to 2007, where they earned a R.Ph., M.S., and B.S. in Pharmacy. In 2005, they also attended the University of Otago for Pharmacy, though they did not receive a degree.
