Shafiq then worked as a Senior Financial Advisor at Douglas Allen from 2007 to 2013. Starting in 2010, they became a Director at Hotspots Management UK Ltd. In 2013, they took on the role of Director at Steptons Estate Agents. In 2014, they became a Director at Homzz Investments, providing opportunities for potential investment seekers in the UK real estate sector. In 2016, they became the CEO of Graana.com, Pakistan's first real estate marketplace. At the same time, they also became a Chairman at Imarat Group, a leading real estate conglomerate that focuses on bringing international hotel chains to Pakistan.
Shafiq Akbar completed their Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Cambridge in 2013-2015. Prior to that, in 2011-2012, they obtained an MSc degree in Public Policy from Queen Mary University of London.
