S K Mitra

Mr Subrata Kumar Mitra is a renowned Indian investment banker, independent director and financial advisor. A pioneering professional in the field of investment banking, Mr Mitra initiated various manufacturing projects and high-profile foreign investments in India by spearheading the financial structuring, regulatory requirements and funding processes. Some of his notable achievements include setting up the GIC mutual fund, as well as the Merchant Banking Divisions for Bank of India and Standard Chartered Bank in Mumbai. He was the Head of Corporate Banking and Investment Banking for American Express, Director of Financial Services for Aditya Birla Group and continues to be on the Board of Directors and Committees of several reputed companies. Apart from being involved with several NGOs, he is an eminent speaker at various global forums, with his work being published in distinguished financial journals around the world. Currently, Mr Mitra is the India Correspondent for Asia Asset Management (AAM), Hong Kong and a founding Governing Council Member of the Association of Corporate Independent Directors (ACIND).
