Alan Nishida

Alan Nishida has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alan began their career as a Research Assistant at FPInnovations in 2000 before moving on to engineering co-op positions at Linamar Corporation and Ballard Power Systems, Inc. in 2001. In 2002, they worked as an Engineer (Co-op) at Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung.

Following this, Nishida held a role as a Hearings Officer at Citizenship and Immigration Canada in 2003. Alan then worked as a Summer Student at Bereskin & Parr LLP in 2004 and later as an Articling Student at the same firm from 2005 to 2006.

In 2007, Nishida became an Associate Licensing Counsel at Sisvel Group before transitioning to IMAX in 2010. At IMAX, they held various positions such as Director, Senior Director, and VP in the Legal Affairs department. In 2019, they became the VP and General Counsel, EMEA at IMAX and in 2023, they took on the role of VP, Legal Affairs. The duration of their current role is unknown as the end date is not provided.

Alan Nishida holds a LL.B. (J.D.) degree in Law from Queen's University, which they obtained in 2005. Prior to this, they completed their undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria, earning a B. Eng. degree in 2002.
