Lorna Howieson

Lorna Howieson, MBA, PMP has extensive work experience in facilities management and project management. Lorna has held various roles at IMAX, starting as the Director of Facilities in April 2013. Lorna later became the Senior Director of Global Facilities and Administration in March 2017, where they managed the redevelopment of the company's headquarters and the construction of a new IMAX theater. Lorna's most recent role at IMAX was Vice President of Global Workplace, where they provided leadership in the company's COVID-19 response and implemented cost reduction activities while also creating safe facilities for employees and supporting work from home initiatives.

Prior to IMAX, Lorna worked at CH2M HILL, starting in June 2000. Lorna served as the Facilities Operations Manager for Canada, overseeing real estate and facility operations across the country. Lorna also worked as a Commercial Project Manager, providing services to Metrolinx for rapid transit implementation in the Greater Toronto Area. Lorna's responsibilities in this role included project controls, reporting, implementing engineering planning and controls software, and managing risk. Lorna also served as a Project Manager, leading the consolidation of two Calgary offices into one newly constructed office tower.

Throughout their career, Lorna has demonstrated their ability to manage complex projects, implement cost-saving measures, and create safe and efficient work environments.

Lorna Howieson, MBA, PMP, completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Athabasca University from 2008 to 2012. Lorna also pursued a Graduate Diploma in Management (GDM) at the same university from 2008 to 2009, focusing on the field of study in Management. In addition to their academic achievements, Lorna obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2014. Lorna has also received a certification in Project Management Foundations: Risk from LinkedIn, although the exact date of completion is not provided.
