Rembert Daems

Rembert Daems has a diverse professional background, including roles in academia and technology. Rembert served as a Bicycle Repairman at Ghent University in 2014 and held positions as an Administrative Assistant at Gemeente Evergem and President of Brugse Universitaire Kring, both in 2014. Rembert worked as an Electrician Student Worker for ATS NV in July 2013 and an IT Employee for Lukas - Art in Flanders in July 2015. A tenure as Combine Innovation Engineer at CNH Industrial from September 2016 to March 2018 followed. Rembert then led AI initiatives at Octinion from March 2018 to February 2021 and became a Board Member at AIG - Engage until February 2024. Currently, Rembert is a Postdoctoral Researcher at imec and a PhD Candidate at Universiteit Gent, focusing on learning from video in continuous time using physics priors and fractional noise. In addition, Rembert is involved in independent AI consulting through Karozan VOF and is a co-founder of Hippo Dx. Rembert holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering from Universiteit Gent, along with a secondary degree in Science-Mathematics from Sint-Leocollege, Brugge.
