Rainer Knoll is an experienced researcher and trainee currently working as a HIDA Trainee at Helmholtz Munich since June 2023, focusing on machine learning tools for single-cell data analysis. Rainer is also a PhD student at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) since November 2019, having previously completed a Master's thesis in bioinformatics under the supervision of Prof. Joachim Schultze. Rainer's background includes roles as a student assistant in statistical analysis at University Clinic Bonn and research internships at Bayer Pharmaceuticals and LIMES-Institut in Bonn. Rainer holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biomedicine and a Master of Science in Biochemistry from The University of Bonn and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics at FernUniversität in Hagen.
