Thomas Wijnants has a diverse and extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Thomas began their career in 1993 as a Manufacturing Engineer at General Motors Continental Antwerp. Thomas then moved to General Motors and worked as a First Line Production Leader in the Body Welding department for Astra and Vectra underbodies. In 1995, they joined Opel Belgium as a First Line Production Leader in the Stamping department and later became a Shiftmanager. Thomas continued to progress in their career and became a Superintendent in the Manufacturing-Engineering Stamping department. In 2003, they joined General Motors Europe as a Lean Manufacturing Manager, specializing in standardization and continuous improvement. Thomas then worked as a Shiftmanager in the Trim department at Opel Belgium. After that, they joined Nike as an Operations Manager for Footwear DC. In 2010, they joined Photovoltech as a Production Coordinator. Currently, they work for imec as the Operations Manager, and they are also responsible for operations as the Operations Director.
Thomas Wijnants completed their Master's degree in Industrial Sciences - electro mechanics from Groep T - Internationale Hogeschool Leuven from 1987 to 1991. Thomas also obtained a CPIM certification in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from APICS. In addition, they received a Green Belt Six Sigma certification from QS Consult. Thomas further pursued their education with the SHINGO Institute, completing a course in Discover Excellence and earning a degree in Cultural Enablers. Thomas'seducation history also includes an undisclosed experience at Don Bosco Haacht.
