Noah Helman

Noah Helman is the founder and Chief Product Officer of Industrial Microbes. Noah has a background in directed evolution, metabolic engineering, and technology development.

Helman started their career as a consultant for Kenan Systems/Lucent Technologies/CSG Systems. Noah then attended Stanford University, where they earned their degree in 6 years.

After graduation, Helman worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Francisco for 4 years. Noah then joined LS9, Inc. as a Scientist II.

At LS9, Helman helped develop software and wet bench techniques to accelerate the directed evolution of enzymes. Noah also worked with analytical and automation departments to optimize workflow and screen clones in high-throughput fermentation.

In their role at iMicrobes, Helman is responsible for developing strategies to improve efficiency and cost savings for high-throughput cloning, genomic modifications, and library construction. Noah has also authored one patent application.

Noah Helman attended Y Combinator from 2015 to 2015. Noah then attended Stanford University from 1999 to 2005, where they earned their Ph.D. in Applied Physics. Finally, they attended Harvard University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned their A.B. in Physics.
