Frederike Gerstner

Frederike Gerstner has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. In 1999, they worked as a Learning Support Assistant at George Green's School, where they designed and implemented individual educational programs for students with special needs. Frederike also provided ongoing educational and social support to 12 students.

From 2004 to 2013, Frederike worked as a Case Worker for People with Disabilities at Ambulante Dienste in Berlin. In this role, they organized logistics for trips, advised individuals on accessibility services, and provided in-home personal care and hygiene.

In 2016, Frederike became a Program Coordinator for Refugees and Immigrants at the City of Pfaffenhofen in Germany. Frederike spearheaded the management of a Refugee Integration Bureau and coordinated programs between local organizations and non-profits. Frederike also guided over 110 refugees through the process of finding employment and advanced job training.

At Welocalize, Frederike had two roles. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Content Moderation - News Quality Analyst, evaluating content for machine learning applications and providing feedback to editorial. Prior to that, they worked as a Content Moderation - German Localization Tester, where they performed string content review, translation, and product testing for a major software company in Silicon Valley.

Currently, Frederike is the Worksource Operations Coordinator at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization. Frederike'sresponsibilities include overseeing onsite service provision and providing supportive supervision to a team of 8 staff members.

Frederike Gerstner completed their Ph.D. in Theatre Studies and Cultural History from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germany from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they pursued their M.A. in Theatre Studies & Cultural Anthropology at Freie Universität (Free University) in Berlin from 2003 to 2010. In 2002, they were an Erasmus Student at Universität Basel in Switzerland, where they focused on Cultural Studies, Critical Theory, and Analysis.
