Rebecca Irani has a diverse work experience in the fields of communications and marketing. Rebecca is currently serving as the Director of Communications and Marketing at the Immigrant Services Society of BC. Prior to this role, they worked as a Global Communications Consultant, specializing in freelance communications, community relations, and PR. Rebecca has also held positions as a Communications and Marketing Senior Manager at The University of British Columbia, where they led a team in developing and implementing strategies for financial and operational portfolios. Rebecca also has experience as a Director of Public Relations at Grey Group, where they led business development for integrated marketing campaigns in the non-profit, public, and private sectors. Rebecca previously worked as an Account Director of Communications at Geronimo Communications, an agency focused on public issues and behavior change. Earlier in their career, they served as a Public Relations Manager at Young Citizens, a non-profit organization, and as the UK Communications and Marketing Manager at Michelin Food & Travel. Throughout their career, Rebecca has demonstrated leadership skills, business development expertise, and a commitment to creating strategic communication strategies.
Rebecca Irani completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Development from the University of London in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a BA 2:1 in Modern Languages, Joint Honours French and Spanish from the University of Bristol. Rebecca also pursued a Modern Languages BA with a focus on Spanish at the Universidad Católica de Cuenca and French Language and Literature at the University of Pau and Adour Countries. Rebecca further obtained a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Cambridge. In terms of additional certifications, they completed courses such as Fundamentals of Graphic Design and Use Canva to Create Social Media Marketing Designs through Coursera. Additionally, Rebecca obtained an Advanced Certificate in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Since 1972, we’ve been providing a variety of support services for immigrants and refugees to help them get settled, find careers and learn all they need to know about starting their new lives in Canada. Through our dedicated staff, volunteers and community partners, we provide settlement, education and employment services for over 25,000 clients every year. ISSofBC is the largest agency of its kind in Western Canada, with targeted programs for refugees, women, children and youth, plus support services in over 45 languages. Our programs and services are available throughout Metro Vancouver, Squamish and the Okanagan.
