Jana Sponarova

Jana Sponarova has extensive experience in the field of data strategy and curation. Jana is currently serving as the Senior Director of Data Strategy and Curation at Immunai since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at NEBION, where they held multiple roles such as Chief Scientific Officer, Head of Biocuration, and Biocurator from 2014 to 2022. Before joining NEBION, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CHUV, University Hospital Lausanne from 2013 to 2014. Jana started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Zurich from 2009 to 2012, where they investigated immune mechanisms involved in the natural clearance of Amyloid A. Jana also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Linköping University from 2006 to 2009, where they focused on the identification of peripheral blood monocytes as carriers of amyloid seeds and investigated the therapeutic potential of anti-amyloid antibodies. Jana began their professional journey as a Research Associate at Pronova Biocare in 2005 and completed their PhD at the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics, Academy of the Sciences of the Czech Republic from 2000 to 2005.

Jana Sponarova has a diverse education history. Jana completed a CAS in Molecular Oncology at the University of Basel in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a PgCert in Biocuration from the University of Cambridge in 2019. Jana holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Charles University, where they studied from 2000 to 2006. Jana also obtained a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Charles University from 1995 to 2000. Additionally, they attended high school at Alsovo nabrezi in Prague from 1990 to 1995, specializing in pharmaceutical assistance.
