Adwitiya Kar, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in scientific research. In 2009, they began their career as a Research Assistant at TAMHSC Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, where they expressed and purified proteins such as mutant malate synthase, Uev1a, Traf-6 using a Ni-NTA purification system. Adwitiya was also responsible for setting up and analysis of protein binding partners using in vitro protein binding assays, immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation. In 2010, they joined the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) as a Senior Research Assistant, where they developed investigative techniques across C. elegans and yeast and identified a new modulator of ubiquinone biosynthesis using a Saccharomyces cerevisiae model of Q6 deficiency. From 2011 to 2022, Adwitiya held various roles at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, including Senior Research Associate, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Postdoctoral Researcher, and Graduate Student. In 2022, they joined Immunitas Therapeutics as a Scientist.

Adwitiya Kar, Ph.D. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Oncology and Cancer Biology from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, which they received in 2016. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Health/Medical Physics, Biochemistry from Texas A&M University in 2008. Adwitiya also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physiology from the University of Calcutta.
