Rajal Patel brings the hybrid experience of a private equity attorney and strategic advisor to impact-driven companies.
As an attorney, Rajal has advised several of the world’s most eminent private equity funds (KKR, Bain, TowerBrook and Oaktree) and management teams across a range of transaction types, including leveraged buyouts, growth equity, recapitalizations, restructurings, and joint ventures. She has practiced across the US, Europe, and the Middle East with international law firms Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Sidley Austin LLP, and was a founding member of the latter’s private equity division across London and Los Angeles.
Through this transactional experience, Rajal has shaped how ESG considerations are integrated into asset pricing and value creation opportunities. She has advised clients on how to address mounting pressure from LPs and changes in governance/regulations across investment decision-making processes, portfolio company operations, and reporting norms.
More recently, Rajal has taken opportunities to support the operational execution of impact initiatives, as a complement to her advisory experience. These include scaling the ESG investment portfolio of a leading multi-national company globally, positioning high-growth, impact-driven businesses for acquisition and partnerships with impact investors and corporations leading on ESG, and producing investor materials on behalf of an impact-driven investment fund.
Rajal holds the UK equivalent of a JD from the University of Law, London, and an undergraduate degree in Economics & Economic History from the London School of Economics.
