Managing General Partner at Impala Ventures

Brian is the Managing General Partner in Impala Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on the disruptive commercial real estate technology sectors. He advises, mentors and invests in founders that he believes have the ability to build companies of scale and that are transforming the built environment. Brian is also Vice Chairman of Eden Technologies, the largest Workplace Management software platform purposely built for global occupiers of space.

Globally, Impala Ventures has been on the forefront of the Covid-19 Pandemic, investing early in Disinfecting technology through its control investment in Hygienica with an exclusive focus on large scale disinfecting for CRE clients.

From 2011 to 2017, Brian was the Co-Founder and CEO of Pristine Environments’, an industry-recognized leader in Integrated Facility Management and Building Intelligence technology. He was responsible for Pristine Environments’ growth strategy, scaling the company from its formation to revenue that approached $100M in less than 6 years, executing 5 M&A transactions along the way. Today the company services over 100M Sft of client’s facilities for global Fortune 1000 firms throughout North America. Pristine Environments is currently owned by Cerberus through its acquisition of the company in 2019.

Before founding Pristine Environments, Brian was a Senior Vice President at Vornado Realty Trust where he was a member of the executive leadership team for the REIT’s facility management portfolio company, BMS. He played an instrumentally role in the creation of Vornado’s ESG program as a member of the corporate sustainability council. Today Vornado's LEED Volume program is the first and largest of its kind in the world.

Until 2010, Brian was a Wharton Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a B.A. with honors from the Salve Regina University and a Master’s degree from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.

​Since 2016, Brian has served as a mentor to groups of transitioning Navy Seals in San Diego who are preparing to enter the corporate ranks, further leveraging their considerable leadership skills.

Currently, he is a Fellow at the Aspen Institute and Technical Advisor to the Energy Innovation Cluster, a technology incubator created by Cleantech San Diego and is an advisor/investor in numerous technology growth companies in the US, Europe and Africa.
