Iltifat Husain MD has had a diverse work experience in the field of medicine and health informatics. Iltifat is currently an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, a position they started in 2023. Prior to this, they founded and served on the Board of Directors at IMPATHIQ, a health informatics company that integrates algorithms into electronic medical record systems. Iltifat founded and served as the Editor-in-chief of iMedicalApps, a website that provides reviews and commentary on medical technology, starting in 2010. Iltifat also worked as a Health Informatics Speaker, delivering keynote speeches and participating in expert panels. In their earlier years, they served as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where they developed a new mobile app curriculum for medical students and also worked as a resident physician in Emergency Medicine.

Iltifat Husain MD attended Enloe for an unspecified period before moving on to North Carolina State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance, General in 2006. Following this, they pursued their medical career at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where they completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2011. In 2009, they also pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, acquiring a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Public Health and Health Policy Management. Additionally, in December 2015, Dr. Husain obtained certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
