Claire Hardiman serves as the Vice President of Medical Physics at The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) since September 2024. Concurrently, Claire has held several significant roles at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, including Co-chair of the Trust Radiation Safety Committee, Consultant Clinical Scientist, Head of Radiation Physics & Radiobiology, and Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) since March 2018. Claire is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London, a UKAS Assessor for Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering, and a former member of the IPEM Board of Trustees. Previously, Claire served as Radiation Protection Adviser at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and as Professional Lead for Medical Physics and Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences at the National School of Healthcare Science. Claire's extensive experience in medical physics includes roles as a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Medical Physics Expert at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and participation in the British Standards Institute writing group for BS70000. Claire holds a degree in Applied Physics from the University of Bath.
