Laura Martin-Sancho

Laura Martin-Sancho currently holds the position of Lecturer / Assistant Professor at Imperial College London, focusing on the mechanisms by which viruses evade immune responses to enhance their survival and induce disease. Prior experience includes serving as a Staff Research Scientist at Scripps Research and a Staff Scientist at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, where project management and high-throughput screening were prominent responsibilities. Laura's background also encompasses work as a Postdoctoral Associate Senior, concentrating on the development of antiviral therapies. Additional consulting experience was gained at Cidara Therapeutics. Academically, Laura earned a PhD in Molecular Virology from the Max Planck Society, a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universidad de Oviedo, and Bachelor's degrees in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Molecular Biology from Universidad de Salamanca. Currently, Laura is also pursuing a Master's in Applied Bioinformatics at UC San Diego.
