Karla Hutchinson

Karla Hutchinson, P. Geo., is a skilled geoscientist with extensive experience in exploration and development within the oil and gas sector. Currently serving as a Geoscientist in Atlantic Canada Exploration & New Opportunities at ExxonMobil since February 2022, Karla has also held various roles at Imperial Oil since January 2013, including primary geologist for heavy oil in-situ assets and operations geologist in the Greater Athabasca Area. Karla's expertise encompasses multifaceted drilling program planning, geological mapping, and the integration of reservoir engineering. Additionally, Karla has contributed to technical presentations, regulatory applications, and the development of key technical products to assess commercial opportunities. Earlier experience includes mapping the geologic history of Utah at the University of Calgary and an oil sands geology internship at Shell. Karla holds a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Geology from the University of Calgary.
