Ben Oliver

Customer Experience Volunteer at Imperial War Museums

Ben Oliver has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and sectors. Ben started their career as a volunteer at Queens Theatre in 2009, where they served as an Outreach Assistant and Backstage Assistant. In 2011, Ben worked as a Front of House Assistant at Havering Museum before moving on to Cranleigh Restaurant as a Silver Service Waiter from 2012 to 2014. Starting in 2013, Ben took on the role of Disability and Learning Mentor at Havering Sixth Form College, providing support to students. In 2014, they volunteered as a Front of House Assistant/Assistant Manager at Cancer Research UK. Ben then joined the University of East London in 2015, serving as a Community Mentor and later as a UEL Archives Assistant Volunteer in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as Waiting Staff at Lord's Cricket Ground. In 2017, Ben became a Customer Experience Volunteer at Imperial War Museums. Returning to the University of East London in 2018, they worked as a CFSS Receptionist, managing first point of contact and providing information and advice to internal and external customers. In 2020, Ben transitioned to the role of Project Officer. Throughout their work experience, Ben consistently demonstrated strong communication and customer service skills.

Ben Oliver has a Master's degree in Military History from Brunel University London, which they obtained from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2017, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of East London.
