Ian Frazer

Ian Frazer is a prominent figure in cancer immunology and health policy, currently serving as the Head of the Cancer Immunology Group at the University of Queensland since February 2014. Additionally, Ian Frazer holds a strategic role as a member of the Queensland Leaders Council at the Queensland Futures Institute, which focuses on promoting public policy reform in Queensland. Ian Frazer has been a Board Member for Microba Pty Ltd and Implicit Bioscience since 2018 and 2009, respectively. Previously, Ian Frazer served as President of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences from 2013 to October 2020 and as CEO of the Translational Research Institute Australia from June 2010 to February 2014. Between 1990 and 2010, Ian Frazer also directed the Diamantina Institute at the University of Queensland. Ian Frazer obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from The University of Edinburgh, following education at Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen, Scotland.
