Rafael Cores

VP, Digital Content at ImpreMedia

Rafael Cores has worked in a variety of roles in the media industry since 1999. Rafael began their career as a sports reporter for El Nuevo Herald in Miami, FL, and a web editor and reporter for Elmundo.es. In 2003, they were a consultant for Vocento. From 1999 to 2004, they were a lecturer and researcher at the University of Navarra, where they worked on projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology and the University of Navarra Researching Plan. In 2005, they were a Washington Correspondent for The Times-Tribune in Scranton, PA, a consultant for the Medill Media Management Project for The Daily Herald, and a Media and Publishing Industries Beat Reporter for the Medill News Service. From 2005 to 2014, they held various roles at Univision Communications Inc., including Director of Digital Editorial Strategy, Director of Homepage, Senior Homepage Editor, Publisher, and Channel Editor. In 2014, they became the VP of Digital Content for ImpreMedia, where they were responsible for the content teams of all ImpreMedia digital properties. In 2021, they joined the Local Media Consortium as a Board Member.

Rafael Cores attended Northwestern University from 2004 to 2005, where they earned a Masters of Science in Journalism - New Media. Rafael also attended University of Navarra from 1995 to 2003, where they earned an ABD from 2000 to 2003 and a Bachelor of Science from 1995 to 1999, both in Journalism.
