Soumya Somanathan

Soumya Somanathan is the current Head of HR for India at Impress. Soumya has over 7 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on Recruitment, Appointment, Induction, Payroll Processing, Policy definition, implementation & enforcement, Redressal of Employee grievances, Management reporting, resolutions & feedback, and working as a communicator between staff and Directors.

Soumya has a wealth of experience in automating HRD processes. Soumya has facilitated the implementation of Greytip Software, Personio and Zoho. Soumya was also part of an international HR team for the global strategy formulation and implementation for all subsidiaries. This included a month-long stay in Germany for the formulation and implementation of global strategies.

Soumya has been responsible for keeping the attrition level to Zero and developing HR Departments from scratch. Soumya is also knowledgeable in Company formation, Director change, GST registration, etc. In their current role, they are responsible for sending HR Matrices on a regular basis and works closely with the International HR Manager and Foreign Directors for necessary support and interventions.

Soumya is also responsible for conducting exit interviews and facilitating the off-boarding process. Soumya has extensive experience in managing payrolls, PFs, ESIs, LWFs, PTs, and other statutory norms. Additionally, they facilitate Team building activities and employee engagement programs.

Soumya Somanathan has completed their Plus Two in Environmental Science from SNDPHSS, Udayamperoor. Soumya has also completed a Certification in HR Analytics from the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. Soumya has completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Jaibarath College of Management Studies. Soumya has also completed a PG Diploma in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Annamalai University. Soumya has completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Botany/Plant Biology from St.Peters College, Kolenchery. Soumya has also received certification from the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak in Certification in HR Analytics and from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in Diploma in Public Relation.
