Brett Tiemann’s parents instilled in him a strong work ethic and a love of reading at a young age. Growing up on a farm near Jacksonville with two brothers and a sister, Brett’s father was a farmer, auctioneer and realtor, “which meant we rose early and worked late,” he laughs.
Thanks to encouragement from his family and teachers, he developed a passion for accounting and finance in high school. Brett graduated Magna Cum Laude from Illinois College in 1989 with a degree in accounting and earned his CPA. His career began at CPA and consulting firm RSM (formerly McGladrey & Pullen) as a financial auditor of small businesses and financial institutions. He then moved into the financial consulting division, where he performed business valuations and financial modeling for clients.
In 2001, Brett joined the INB team as Chief Financial Officer. In his role at INB, he enjoys interacting directly with employees and customers as the bank works to develop and deliver innovative products and services to improve the financial lives of its customers.
Brett is an avid supporter of the Central Illinois community. He is involved with United Way, and he currently serves as Board Chairman for the Illinois Real Estate Title Center.
Brett is married to Joann, who is a realtor with the Melissa Dowson Vorreyer sales team. They have two sons: Devin, who attends college in Florida and serves in the Florida National Guard, and Drew, who is a freshman at Glenwood High School.
Brett has enjoyed attending his sons’ baseball and basketball games over the years, and in his free time, he likes to read and analyze investments. He is grateful to have a career he is passionate about and spending time with his family and friends.
