INBO (Research Institute for Nature and Forest)
Maarten Stevens is a Senior Scientist at INBO (Research Institute for Nature and Forest) since January 2007, focusing on research and reporting related to the state of nature, policy evaluation, and scenario analysis through the Regional Ecosystem Assessment of Flanders. Previously, Stevens held the position of Senior Environmental Scientist, specializing in fish ecology and migration. Prior to joining INBO, Stevens worked at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven from September 2000 to December 2006 as a PhD student and teaching assistant, conducting PhD research on the intertidal and basin-wide habitat use of fishes in the Scheldt estuary and teaching various practical courses in ecology and hydrobiology. Stevens obtained a PhD in Estuarine Ecology from KU Leuven in 2006.
