Michael Walker is the VP of Finance for Europe at Inchcape Shipping Services Ltd. Prior to their current position, Walker held the role of Group Finance & Business Partner at ED&F Man from June 2015 to September 2017. In this role, they were responsible for group accounting, reporting, and supporting refinancing. Michael also spent time in the business as a principal finance business partner.
From October 2012 to May 2015, Walker worked at Schroders as the Group Financial Reporting. Their focus in this role was on technical group finance, financial statements, and reporting cycles. Michael also provided support for investor relations.
Before Schroders, Walker worked at Grant Thornton UK LLP from October 2009 to October 2012 as part of their Assurance team. Michael gained experience across a range of industries during their three year ACA training contract in audit and assurance.
Walker began their career at HCL Technologies from January 2009 to June 2009 as part of their Business Development team.
Michael Walker has an ACA from ICAEW and an MSc in Finance from University of Warwick - Warwick Business School. Michael also has a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.
