Andrea Miller Tan

Andrea Miller Tan has a diverse work experience across multiple industries. Andrea has held various roles in communications, design, and education. At Independence Blue Cross, they worked as a Lead Multimedia Designer, collaborating on cross-functional teams to deliver internal communications materials. Andrea also served as a Senior Multimedia Designer at the same company, creating print and digital visuals to support internal communications and employee engagement. In their own business, Miller Tan Creative, they worked as the Owner, providing design services for non-profit clients and photography for families and couples. Andrea also has experience as a History Professor at Southern New Hampshire University and the University of Phoenix. Additionally, they have worked as a Communications Coordinator at the Health Federation of Philadelphia and a Communications Specialist at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Andrea has also held positions at the Newlin Grist Mill, Brandywine Valley Museum and Garden Alliance, and the Delaware Historical Society.

Andrea Miller Tan holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Public/Applied History and Archival Studies from Temple University. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History and Theatre Arts: Costume Design from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including Motion Graphics for Educators, Photojournalism, Graphics & Illustration for Educators, Infographics in the Classroom, and Video Storytelling for Educators from Adobe Education. Andrea also holds a certification as a Certified Interpretive Guide from the National Association of Interpretation, which they obtained in October 2013.
