Christy Johnson

Christy Johnson has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Christy began their career at Independence Blue Cross in 1987 as a Business Systems Analyst, where they analyzed and documented front-end claims processes and identified business impacts. From 2001 to 2003, they participated in the implementation of X12 Health care claims transactions and managed project plans for inter-departmental initiatives.

From 2003 to 2004, they worked as a Senior Business Analyst, converting external clients to HIPAA compliant Healthcare Claims transactions and performing systemic testing for product implementation and enhancements. In 2003, they also took on the role of eBusiness Corporate Project Lead, leading full life cycle systems development and providing support and direction to team members.

In 2005, Christy became a Lead Business Systems Analyst at Independence Blue Cross, where they implemented a multi-million dollar project to reengineer the receipt of front-end claims. Christy managed multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with vendors, subject matter experts, and other business associates. Christy also maintained existing electronic data interchange processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.

In 2019, Christy joined Change Healthcare as a Claims Solutions Consultant for a few months before returning to Independence Blue Cross as a Lead eBusiness Systems Analyst. In their current role starting in May 2022, they are responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and production support of various Healthcare claims and enrollment transactions.

Throughout their career, Christy has demonstrated strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and a focus on achieving goals and expected outcomes.

Christy Johnson obtained an Associate's degree in Information Technology from Peirce College from 2009 to 2012. Later, from 2021 to 2023, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Organizational Leadership at the same institution, Peirce College. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including Agile Software Development, Setting Up Your Small Business as a Legal Entity, and Having Difficult Conversations from LinkedIn, with respective completion dates in January 2020, November 2019, and October 2019.
