Lucy Blythe

Trustee at Independent Age

Lucy founded Philia International in 2009 with a mission to transform non-profit leadership with a focus on board development. She assists organizations in governance and strategic planning and acts as philanthropy advisor to non-profits, trusts, foundations, families and individuals.

Previously she was CEO of the Kew Foundation, Partner in an international search firm, and led major fundraising campaigns in the US and UK. More recently she helped establish the CERN & Society Foundation and facilitated the organisational development of Afrobarometer, a pan-African NGO. She runs non-profit leadership workshops in Africa and Europe and is actively involved in promoting philanthropy and social investment in Europe and globally. She is a member of The HALO Trust Advisory Group, independent trustee of the Ethos Foundation and Life Fellow of the RSA. She previously served as a Trustee of Philanthropy Impact and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

As a dual US/UK citizen, she has first-hand experience helping ensure the joyful and dignified later years of friends and family in both systems.
