Reema Patel is the Export Manager at the Independent Beauty Association. Reema has also worked as the Associate Director (Engagement) at the Ada Lovelace Institute and as a Programme Manager at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (The RSA).
Reema Patel has extensive experience in public engagement and policy. At the Ada Lovelace Institute, they worked to develop the Institute's approach to deliberative public engagement, engagement of underrepresented communities and groups, and helped fulfil the Institute's objectives to convene diverse voices in shaping policy and practice.
At the RSA, Reema Patel managed a high profile and impactful programme aiming to engage citizens on economic policy with a variety of decision makers including the Bank of England, local authorities, business and pension funds. The programme involved the delivery of a large scale citizens' council (assembly model) and its report findings were widely covered by the local, national and trade press, and was broadcast on BBC Newsnight. CEC was covered by publications such as the Financial Times, the BBC, the Daily Telegraph as well as financial news (Reuters, City AM, Bloomberg). Recommendations from the programme were implemented by Chief Economist of the Bank of England Andy Haldane, who established the Bank's regional citizen panels as a direct result of this research.
Reema Patel has also designed engagement workshops for the RSA Food, Farming and Countryside Commission.
Reema Patel has a MPhil in Wittgenstein (Late and Early) from the University of Cambridge. Reema also has a BA Hons in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge.
