Betsy Melendez

Betsy Melendez, MBA, CPA, CMA, currently serves as the Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) since October 2019. Prior to this role, Betsy held various leadership positions, including Senior Manager at Symcor, where oversight of financial planning and reporting for the Customer Communication Services line of business was a key responsibility. At American Express, Betsy was the Finance lead for the merchant services organization, overseeing Canada’s P&L and ensuring scorecard metrics were met. Previous experience also includes managerial roles at Direct Energy and Enron, along with a foundational position as a Financial Analyst at SoftLine Consulting, Inc. Betsy holds a Master of Business Administration from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and is a Certified Management Accountant, having completed the CMA program in 2009.
