Mike Major

Treasurer at Independent Pilots Association

Mike graduated in 1986 from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Geography. In 1994, he earned a master’s degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle.

Mike started his flying career in 1986 as a pilot in the US Air Force where he served nearly 30 years flying the T-37, KC-135, KC-10 and C-17 on active duty and in the reserves. He was hired by UPS in 2001 and has flown the B757/767, DC-8 and MD-11. Additionally, he has worked as a simulator instructor on the MD-11 and B757/767 and served on numerous IPA committees.

Mike began his 3-year term as Treasurer in Jan 2020. He resides in Prospect KY with his wife Renee.
