Yajish Tennakoon has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Yajish started their career as a Legal Counsel at the Attorney General's Department in 2013 and worked there until 2015. In 2008, Yajish joined the Yacht Company Pvt Ltd as a Legal Director, a position they still hold. Yajish also served as an Advisor at the Sri Lanka Ministry of Justice from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they are working as a Legal Director at Independent Television Network Ltd, a position they assumed in 2020.
Yajish Tennakoon received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2012. Yajish then pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Open University of Sri Lanka, completing it in 2012 as well. In 2011, Yajish attended Sri Lanka Law College, where they obtained their Attorneys degree. Later, in 2015, they pursued a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of West London, completing it in 2016.

ITN also known as ITN Sri Lanka started operations on 13th April 1979 with very modest beginnings and on 5th June 1979 was converted to a government owned business undertaking, under a Competent Authority. In 1992 ITN was converted to a public company under State jurisdiction. Subsequently both program and engineering services were extended. With 42 years behind ITN, local programs are given pride of place catering to all strata of society News and Current Affairs, Music and Variety and of course Drama. Special emphasis is also given to Children’s and Women’s and religious programs. ITN has a daily transmission of 18 hours. There is also a small component of English programs mainly feature films and dramas with worldwide appeal. Engineering: On the Engineering side, five transmitting stations spread throughout the Island they are able to cover most parts of the Island. With the establishment of another transmitting station, it is expected to cover the entire Island in the near future. ITN Family: ITN comprises of six networks that include three television and three radio channels. ITN, the main television channel is mainly telecast in Sinhala. The latest additions in 2009 were Vasantham TV, which broadcast in Tamil and Prime TV, which broadcast in English. Lakhanda radio is ITN's Sinhala radio channel. Along with Vasantham FM in Tamil and Prime Radio in English, makes the ITN family. All ITN's channels can be viewed and heard world wide over live streaming over the internet.
