Albert Leftwich has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Albert began their career in 1982 as an Army Officer in the US Army, specializing in Latin America. Throughout their Army career, Albert had various positions such as two tours in Brazil, Defense Attache in Uruguay, Branch Chief at DIA, and Politico-Military Strategist at HQDA. Albert'sArmy career ended in October 2005.

After leaving the military, Albert joined the United States Department of Defense in September 2005, where they held the role of Training Program Manager/Supervisory Training Instructor. Albert managed a 15-member training staff that developed and delivered up to 20 five-week courses annually, training 500-600 civilian and military personnel each year. In this role, Albert was recognized by the American Society for Training and Development for their innovative training program and even spoke at the 2010 International Conference of ASTD, Chicago IL. Albert held this position until April 2010.

Albert then transitioned to the role of Foreign Language Program Manager at the United States Department of Defense, where they served from April 2010 to July 2015. Albert then took on the position of Training Program Manager from July 2015 to April 2019.

Albert's most recent work experience is as an Independent Writer since May 2019, where they are known as a Creative Writer.

Albert Leftwich has an extensive education history. Albert obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Louisiana State University, where they studied from 1975 to 1981. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in History at the University of Richmond, which they completed from 1986 to 1990. Additionally, Leftwich furthered their education by earning a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies at Tulane University, where they studied from 1992 to 1993. Lastly, they completed their education journey by obtaining a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Pine Manor College, which they pursued and completed from 2017 to 2019.
