Derrick Beetso

Derrick Beetso is a board member at Indian Country Today. Prior to that, they worked as an attorney-advisor for the Western Region of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), the Office of Justice Services (OJS), the Secretary's Indian Water Rights Office (SIWRO), and other bureaus and offices within the Department of the Interior. Beetso has also served as counselor to the Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs, providing briefings and analysis on various issues, programs and policies within the scope of Indian Affairs. Derrick has also worked as general counsel and senior counsel for the National Congress of American Indians, and as a staff attorney for the same organization.

Derrick Beetso holds a Juris Doctor from Arizona State University College of Law and an Indian Legal Certificate from the same school.
