Vijay Kannan

Vijay Kannan currently serves as the Director of the Office of Clinical Performance and Health Impact at the Indian Health Service, with an ongoing role as Emergency Physician at Mayo Clinic and as a Scientific Advisory Council Member for the American Red Cross. Vijay's extensive experience includes leadership roles such as Regional Director for the Office of Quality Management and Acting Chief of Emergency Medicine at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. Prior positions include Technical Officer and Consultant for the World Health Organization, Faculty Member at Harvard Medical School, and Chief Resident in Emergency Medicine at Maricopa Integrated Health System. Vijay holds an M.D. from UT Southwestern Medical School, a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a B.A. in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University, alongside completing a Global Health Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and a brief academic period at the Sorbonne.
