Chetan Singh Thakur is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), having transitioned from Assistant Professor since May 2017. Prior to this role, Chetan served as a Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on Neuromorphic ICs and Machine Learning algorithms under Prof Ralph Etienne-Cummings from July 2016 to May 2017. Earlier, Chetan worked briefly at the Defence Science and Technology Group, where a localization system for Unmanned Ground Vehicles was developed. Chetan's academic journey includes a PhD as a Neuromorphic Researcher at The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development, developing Neuromorphic ICs and algorithms. Chetan began a career at Texas Instruments as a Senior IC Design Engineer, contributing to the development of OMAP processor IPs and digital designs for brushless motor driver products. Academic credentials were obtained from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
