Angelica Lim

Angelica Lim, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Simon Fraser University, where Angelica directs the SFU Rosie Lab, focusing on creating robots with social intelligence and empathy, and oversees the CS Undergraduate Programs and the SFU AI4ALL summer enrichment program. Previously, Angelica served as a Software Engineering Manager at SoftBank Robotics Europe, leading the Expressivity Team and managing projects related to emotional recognition in robots. Angelica holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Informatics from Kyoto University and a BSc in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University, with a track record of contributions to various robotics and artificial intelligence initiatives, including teaching, research, and writing for IEEE Spectrum Automaton.
