Janelle George

Janelle George has extensive experience in educational access and student support, currently serving as the Director of Educational Talent Search at Indian River State College since December 2010, focusing on improving college access for income-eligible and first-generation students. Previously, Janelle worked as a Graduate Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Africana Studies, where responsibilities included teaching assistance and mentoring students. In another role as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania Office of Faculty Senate, Janelle supported faculty committees in organizing events and managing communications. Janelle also has experience as a College Access Counselor/Coordinator at Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, advising and assisting high school students with college applications, and as a College Access Counselor at the Baltimore Urban Debate League, presenting workshops and facilitating college preparation. Janelle holds a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Sociology from Florida State University.
