Michael Robo

Michael Robo is a Staff Scientist at the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute since October 2022, with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Indiana University School of Medicine from September 2020 to August 2022. Michael's academic journey includes work as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan from June 2014 to September 2020, where responsibilities included teaching organic chemistry laboratories and discussions. As a Graduate Research Assistant, Michael focused on density functional theory to investigate chemical reactions, making significant contributions such as enhancing the understanding of catalyst activation and the mechanisms of chemical reactions. Additional experience includes a role as a Visiting Graduate Student Scholar at Procter & Gamble, where research centered on hydrolysis pathways for fabric softeners, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Rochester, where important findings were made in the synthesis of terpyridines. Michael holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Rochester.
