Steve Johnson, FACHE has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Steve started their career at Omniflight Helicopters, where they served as the Vice President of Business Operations from 2007 to 2010. Steve then joined Indiana University Health as the Director of Critical Care Transport from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, they took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Indiana Donor Network, a nonprofit organization responsible for overseeing organ, tissue, and eye donation across the state. Steve also served as the President of Donate Life Indiana, the state affiliate for Donate Life America, from 2014 to 2020.

Steve Johnson, FACHE has a Bachelor's Degree in Business from New Mexico State University, which they obtained from 1995 to 2000. Steve later completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Ashford University between 2008 and 2010. Steve also has a certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Purdue University, which they obtained in 2013. Steve furthered their education with Executive Education at Harvard Business School, and is currently pursuing a law degree at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law from 2022 to 2025. In 2015, Steve obtained a certification as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
