John Ruckelshaus

John Ruckelshaus is an experienced professional with a strong background in governmental affairs, business development, and nonprofit management. Currently serving as the Vice President of Governmental Affairs at the Indiana State Medical Association since October 2021, Ruckelshaus previously held roles including Director of Talent Fulfillment at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Director of Business Development at both American Health & Wellness Group and Van Ausdall & Farrar. Ruckelshaus also served as Executive Director of The Ramp Less Traveled, Inc., focusing on scholarship and mentoring programs for students with spinal cord injuries, and has held leadership positions at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP and the Indiana Cable Association. Ruckelshaus's career began at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, where a tenure as Deputy Commissioner was completed. Ruckelshaus earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Indiana University Bloomington.
