John K. Pratt

Vice Chair at Indiana State University

John Pratt was appointed to the Indiana State University’s Board of Trustees in 2021. A 1984 graduate of Rockville High School, Pratt earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University College of Agriculture in Animal Science. After college, Pratt returned to the family farm in rural Parke County where he is the sixth generation to own and operate the family farm.

Pratt, currently serves as President of the Parke County Council having been first been elected in 2000. He was instrumental in helping Parke County join the Wabash River Regional Development Authority and works to attract investment in quality of place enhancements for Parke County. Other board services include the Parke County Redevelopment Commission, Parke County REMC Multi-County Community Trust Board, and the Mt. Moriah Cemetery Board. In 2017, Pratt was honored as 4-H alumni of the year.

He previously served as a member of the Rockville Board of School Trustees and the Parke County Fair Board.
