Dorian Jackman

Substitute Double Bassist at Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra

Dorian Jackman currently serves as a Substitute Double Bassist for multiple orchestras, including the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony, and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, with experience dating back to 2016. Dorian also contributes as a Cello Teaching Artist for 18 Degrees Family Services for Western Massachusetts, teaching pre-college students in the Kids 4 Harmony program. Formerly, Dorian held the position of Section Double Bassist at Owensboro Symphony Orchestra and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012 to 2023 and was a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome from September 2022 to July 2023. Dorian's educational background includes a Doctor of Music and a Master of Music in Double Bass Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Double Bass Performance from Illinois State University.
