Lauren Oertel is an experienced organizing manager currently working at the Indivisible Project since May 2020. Prior to this role, Lauren served as the Director of Organizing and Policy at the Texas Inmate Families Association from April 2018 to November 2019. Earlier career experience includes working as a Program Specialist at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from June 2012 to July 2018, where Lauren managed watershed-based projects aimed at improving water quality in collaboration with local stakeholders. Lauren holds a Master of Global Policy Studies in Sustainable Development from The LBJ School of Public Affairs (2010-2012) and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Davis (2007-2009).
