Ian Stokes

Software Engineering Manager at Inductosense

Ian Stokes has extensive experience spanning over two decades, starting with Xerox as an FAL/ITS engineer in 1997. Ian then worked at Motorola Solutions, starting in 1999, where they held multiple roles including software engineer, senior DSP software engineer, SW team lead, GSR platforms evolution team lead, firmware engineering manager, and engineering manager. Stokes worked at Nokia Siemens Networks from 2011 to 2012 as the head of Horizon R&D IV&V and technical lead before transitioning to Eaton, where they worked as a technical director Controls CoE from 2013 to 2017. Ian subsequently spent six months in 2017 at Volution Ventilation Uk as a group technical director. From 2017 to 2019, they served as a senior engineering leader HVDC controls, GE Grid Solutions, at GE Power. Stokes then held the position of R&D group leader, Nano Materials, at Malvern Panalytical from 2019 to 2022 before moving to Capgemini Engineering, where they worked as a high integrity software, engineering unit manager. Currently, in 2023, Stokes holds the position of software engineering manager at Inductosense.

Ian Stokes obtained a BEng(Hons) in Digital Electronics Engineering at the University of the West of England from the year 1994 to 1999. Ian then pursued an MSc in Software Engineering at the University of Oxford from 2001 to 2006.
